Project management is not a regulated and licensed profession - like an electrician, plumber, or doctor. You might find a professional crediential to be helpful. Good luck..!

Canada, and most western countries, do not have licensing for project management, however they do have expectations in terms of qualifications and without the right one few employers will even look at you. Depending where you are this is either PMP or Prince2, although increasingly employers will be happy whichever you have as both show a certain level of knowledge and commitment.

The above answers are correct, no license is required in Canada. However, if you are planning to work in the role of a project manager, you will find a certification either helpful or possibly required by your prospective employer.

I'll echo everyone else here, although it is not regulated and licensed, two things occur:

1) You don't make it very far through the applicant list unless you have experience locally

2) Although Project Management isn't regulated, there are a variety of things that regulate YOU. Like SOX, Security Clearance...etc.
