Hi, All,

How many of you saw tangible benefits shortly after earning a PMP? By tangible, I mean promotions, pay raises, increased bonus potential, etc.

I read somewhere that Project Managers who hold a PMP often earn, on average, 20% more than those who do not. My own experience doesn't bear that out, but I'm curious to know if yours does.

PMI publishes a salary survey (free download), that is where the 20% come from.

No, the PMP did not give me a direct salary increase, but a whole lot of reputation and acknowledgement and trust to take on challenges and self confidence. And I stuck to the profession for more than 20 years after it.

Not sure if having a PMP should even trigger a salary increase. I regard it more as a component of continuous learning and improvement.
