We are in the process of trying to define the various parts of Project Office. We have identified the following disciplines or activities under the Project Office banner: 1. Project Office 2. Project Portfolio Management 3. Project Definition 4. Project Scoping 5. Project Planning 6. Project Management 7. Project Tracking 8. Project Review & Analysis
At a recent meeting, my informal definitions of these terms was taken to task (appropriately so, in hindsight). I looked in the PMBOK(c) and I can find a definition for "Project Management," but none of the other terms.
Can anyone point me to a glossary (online or off) that contains at least some of these terms? Are any of you using these terms in your own organization today? How are they defined?
I am including my definitions in Word97 format attached to this.
