I never underestimate the value of a designation after my name. I have a graduate certificate in Project Management. My work experience in Project Management covers administrative and financial areas. Teamwork has proven itself one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and I look forward to more of its professional form: Project Management. It is significant to note that the MMS, Masters of Management Science, after my name has little effect on those with whom I work. Therefore, it is what I learned, not the status conferred, in acquiring the designation that serves me in my current employment.
I am currently working in a sophisticated high-precision machine shop as a Project Manager / Financial Analyst, managing all filings on our behalf. While I push paper and not the heavier materials, this position allows me to associate myself with an industry I would have chosen earlier in life had I been better informed.
It is difficult for me to know precisely the value of the PMP from my own experience. Nonetheless, I do know that it would ease my entry into a number of contexts I am intrigued by, but for which have no other background qualifications to enter.
