Working in public education we have to ask this question frequently.

I have a printed message in the corner of my personal kanban board that reads, "How will this technology solution positively impact our students and the teachers that support them?"

Before any new technology is employed in an organisation, the first question should be do we really need it and can we afford it? This decision should not be a knee jerk reaction as something that looks better coming along. Organisations with a lot of experience in this area always define their requirements first and see if existing technologies fulfil their requirement before shopping somewhere elsewhere.
