I would say more carbon neutral aware as more clients want to be seen doing their part to fight the build up of greenhouse gases and the resulting global warming. This "been seen" is in more recent times shifting towards only using vendors and suppliers who are actively seeking to be 100% carbon neutral by a fixed date. However there exists great differences globally depending if its on the national agenda of a specific country. Here in the west, carbon neutral would be seen as a way to attract new business and opportunities, were in other less developed countries were pollution maybe a everyday commute, carbon neutral would be put on the back burner as keeping prices down and ensuring a ready supply chain of raw materials takes centre stage. The most important thing is whether this piece meal global approach will actually make a difference and cut down on the emissions of greenhouse gases. The one area of business that have made huge leaps in cutting down their dependence on fossil fuels and associated dangerous greenhouse gases emissions is Data Centres. Data Centres now employ various innovative cooling techniques, such as building in Goldilocks zones, that have a far reaching impact on cutting down on greenhouse gases.

Agree that carbon neutral is not yet applicable in all country.
Concerning data center, why not provide the heat generated to an industry that might have a use for it such as those greenhouses.
I find it varies with the organisation. In the past I have worked in the utilities sector and there was a lot of interest in the environmental impact of everything in the company and this would be reflected in projects- such as even the power consumption of IT equipment. Current organisation has no environmental interest at all, it is never even mentioned.

Sorry to see that there are still organizations in your country that don't have an environmental interest. Many small things can be done in any organization. Ten years ago I was in an organization that replaced all disposable coffee cup with a real coffee cup for each employee and a reusable water bottle also for each employee, with the logo on all!

On many private projects, I have seen the use of tablets to reduce paper, not perfect. It reduces paper usage greatly, people go around with most of the documentation available in the tablet or web base. Information is updated on the construction site with pictures when needed, so real-time. Since the table can be used from project to project it probably is cleaner in the long run.
I'm curious about the use of tablets. It seems like a good option because it reduces paper, which is good for efficiency and cost. And if connected, it gives workers access to much more data and communication options. But I've never seen an actual environmental analysis comparing the two, especially considering that paper can be recycled while electronics require low wage mining and assembly and tend to end up in landfills after a short time.
I don't know the answers, I'm just wondering how complex this really is.

And let's not forget about the hidden environmental costs of charging the tablets...

Wade,
Paper is not really recycled, at least not as we think in many places. In my area, it is collected with plastic and glass, rendering it unusable for recycling. You should validate your region.
I agree that Tablet requires some material that has bad environmental or societal impact. If you use it for a much longer period than the one year for a new version, I still use a table that is almost 10 years old.

@Kiron
The environmental cost of charging will depend on the method of production in your region. Here Hydroelectricity is pretty clean, the trees are removed before inundation. This reduces to almost nothing CO2 emissions.

Hydro-electricity comes with different environment issues: water diversion, animal displacement and dam construction/maintenance
