Hi all, this is my first post.

As part of our quest for ever-continued improvement, I am trying to gather statistics from the IT industry with respect to project delivery performance (in terms of cost, time, quality). This will allow us to benchmark our current performance against a 'representative' sample from the industry.

Does anyone know where I could obtain reliable metrics for this purpose?

Thanks in anticipation,

Glen W.

Hi Hans, thanks for your reply.

I shall look at SLIM with a view to improving our estimating, but I am still interested in gathering a broad range of current/recent stats to be able to benchmark our current/recent performance.

Cheers,
Glen W.

That is exactly what SLIM has done in the past. They compare over 7000 projects with yours

Ah, I didn't realise.

Do they provide a service that does the comparison, or just provide data for us to do it ourselves?

Cheers,

Thank Hans, I shall investigate further.

I should also be happy to hear from anyone else who has used SLIM, or has tackled this sort of problem in other ways.

Cheers,
Glen W.
