I was reading this PMI article
http://www.newstatesman.com/sites/default/...p_sept_2019.pdf
by Cindy Anderson and Mike DePrisco
It clearly calls out how investing in young talent can add value in the project economy. I was wondering how can we leverage the skills of the other generations - genx, geny, baby boomers and traditional in the project economy ? what are your thoughts ?

Dear Priya
Very pertinent the theme that brought to the debate

The process of replacing one generation with another is natural
Therefore, I consider it important that people from different generations can work together on projects.
It's natural that they have to learn to work with each other
If at work we practice the 3 habits of interdependence (proposed by Stephen Covey):
- Think win-win
- Seek first to understand than to be understood
- Synergize
I am convinced that in projects the results will be better

1. We have institutionalized a formal mentoring program.
2. We also have a program for persons about to retire who can spend their remaining time shadowing others so that experiences and knowledge can be passed on.

Excellent ! A great way for knowledge transition. In many projects/ systems the functional knowledge is important, the shadowing concept can help us to blend the experience, functional knowledge along with the fresh ideas from the younger talent pool for success

There was an article in HBR within the last month that covered reverse-mentoring for senior execs to learn from new/younger staff: https://hbr.org/2019/10/why-reverse-mentor...tocomplete=true

Some of the ideas in that article are apropos to your question...

That´s is not new. "Project Economy" seems to be the new buzzword in the next years. You can search for this type of things in tradicional economy text. And the end is a matter of resources inside an specific economy in one area or the world. That´s because some articles fail to generalize. As I mentioned, is a well studied matter in economy. It belongs to macro economy.
