I’m struggling to find the difference between a FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis) and a RAID log (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) Log.

Main differences ?

To put it simple: FMEA is about to prevent, not to cure. It is about all related to product cration mainly. FMEA creates inputs to RAID log.

An FMEA will look at the risks inherent in specific steps or activities of a process whereas a RAID log is used on a project. They do share similar elements in that both contain risks and both will include probability, impact and response strategies, but an FMEA goes further by capturing the before and after assessment of a risk as well as the likelihood of detection whereas a RAID log goes further by including Actions, Issues & Decisions.
