My recommendation about PMP certification is reading and understanding all related documentation inside the PMI certification web site before started to apply or to prepare for them. Mainly take care with adudits.

Dear Sergio,
Thanks for the advice.
yes indeed this is what I am trying to achieve, I have one advantage that I have worked with similar principles with British Petroleum in the engineering team, this is quite good but the only issues is language as I am not native speaker, but i work hard to improve

Welcome, Abdelhamid!

The community is here to support you! I would recommend, like Rami suggested, to take some time and peruse the forums. There is significant and valuable content available, both discussion threads and blog posts.

Come back with what you feel is a good path forward for you and the community will be able to help you along.

For instance, I always recommend that individuals leverage the study habits that had worked for them in the past, i.e., reading, highlighting, flash-cards, etc. Not everyone learns the same way. What worked for one, may not work for others.

My personal story was reading through the PMBOK, taking a 4-day class, then using the materials and notes from that class, with additional materials such as flash-cards, to continue studying with another round of reading the PMBOK, taking lots of notes and ended up with a 'bible' of sorts that I stapled and carried around for quick referencing and note-taking. Easier to carry than the PMBOK and more so in my own words. I did minimal practice exams, maybe 500 questions or so. I did not use Rita, though many here have.

The exam itself is another consideration, as in 4-hours/200-questions. Mind and body work together. If you're not careful, can end up with more questions left than time. Also, if have to leave to use the facilities, the clock does not stop. Also, may have to wait in-line to come back in to get through the security process. GL!

Dear Andrew,
Thank you for those great explanations, really appreciated.
Agree with you on the way of preparation, I think the key to success is to make a target (for my case to be PMP before the end year) this need organization and time management,
By the way, I like your story, this can be as good baseline for my way of preparation, for my case I started with watching some Rita in YouTube than going directly to PMBOK, hoe this plan will work for me.
Once again thanks so much and keep in touch
All the best

Welcome to the community! I'd echo what others have said and look at what works for you and then go from there. I spent 3 months preparing by reading the PMBOK, working with flashcards and prep exams and then listening to a few audio podcasts around the exam and focusing on a chapter a week.

How do you like to learn? What works best for you?

Just to remind you: the PMP exam is changing as of July next year so make sure that you're focusing on the right content!

Dear Emily,
Thank you for the great message and it is my pleasure.
My target is to get the PMP before the end of this year, hope this can be possibe, my focus now is exploring how to get this certification in the meantime I am reading one book to refresh.
To be honest, I would like to focus on what we have on the PMI website only, avoiding external exam preparation but I am not sure yet.
By the way, Pmchallenge questions looks like a good training for question, am I right?
Thanks & best regards
Hamid
