Rashed,
I am sure there are other traditional phase models applicable to oil&gas today, some may be specific to companies.

With technology like BIM there will be new possibilities to work in parallel, automatically check the impact of changes and align contractors. This will provide for higher flexibility, less rework and miscommunication. Some say BIM reduces cost by 20% and increases efficiency by 50%.

There is a PhD thesis 'Use of project execution models and BIM in oil and gas projects' from the university of Trondheim.

Dear Rashed,
I am in the oil and gas industry, I will have a look at my level but not sure to be a good idea to change, in my opinion better to improve the existing system using new technics

We are enhancing the system by adopting new execution strategies as and when applicable. The normal way of conducting projects sometime does not seems to be the best way although it is workable and nothing wrong with it.
