Hi,

There is no shame to ask if you don't know something, but the real shame is the ignorance.

What does the following phrase actually mean? anybody with right interpretation as I am non-English speaking individual.

"Being a project manager is easy. It’s like riding a bike. Except the bike is on fire, you are on fire, everything is on fire, and you are in hell"

Regards,
Azzam

@ Sergio my friend: If it wasn't for the occasional fires, we would call it "Project Planning" instead of "Project Management", and that would take most of the fun out of it. :-)
I could agree about "occasional" if it is because unknown risks or something like that. But I still think that project manager is hire to prevent the fire. No matter that, from long time ago, people hire me to extinguish the existing fire. Including my actual work place where I am working from 8 years ago all progrmas/projects "on fire" are assigned to me, to be honest.

I’ve seen people wearing t-shirt exactly with that on! I personally think its meant to be taken lightly, as a joke as opposed to exact literally meaning of the sentence...
