I am a Instructional Technology Designer and I have taken support course with my Masters in Project Management. I do Project Management all the time. By looking at the site it seems to be a little different than what I see others doing. I could be wrong, but I want to make it offical by taking the test. I am in need of a mentor who can guide me through what to study and where to take the test and answer questions if I have them.

Can you simply write what do you want from us? I am not sure why I couldn't get anything out of your query.

Sorry for being cynical.

Hi, Sharlene. If you are looking for the best approach to getting your PMP, I would suggest going to the PMI website to start: http://www.pmi.org. There are a number of advertisers on the website that provide training. The one I used to get my PMP was Rita Mulcahy's: http://www.rmcproject.com/

Hi Sharlene, I am the former VP Education for my local PMI Chapter. I have a few questions for you:

1) have you taken a PMP training that qualifies with PMI for the 35 contact hours of required project management training? If not, this is a good place to start. A PMP Prep course will give you an overview of what you need to know to pass the test.

2) Are you a member of a local PMI chapter? If not, and there is one reasonably close to you, I'd recommend joining a chapter and networking with some local PMPs. I credit volunteering for my chapter with helping me pass the PMP Exam (on my second attempt)

Here is a link to an article I wrote on that:

Best of luck with your PMP, if you need assistance, feel free to message me on this site.

There are many PMI REPs are there to mentor you. They can guide you virtually (online) or class room training. Search on PMI.Org or google.
