We're starting a project that is similar to a previous project. The other projects were managed by someone other than me. Actually, there was no PM. Let's not even go into that.
For these other projects, the teams met on a regular basis, but it is my understanding that practically ALL the people working on the project attended these project meetings. Here's my question.
I know that the kick-off meeting should involve all the stakeholders and those project team members, but is it advisable to only have the various team leads attend the regular project team meetings? Or should I have everyone attend the meetings?

It depends on the team size. Normally I wold only ask for the team leads assuming each of the team leads will have a team meeting witht the members of his team. When there are X-team issues a separate meetign between the tl's and the sme's can be arranged ad hoc. In this way you are able to keep the number of meeting hours to an acceptable level
If the team size is below 10-12 I would invite everybody since that appears to be more efficient
hopes this helps

Hans rightly mentioned the size of the team as one of the parameter, along with that the frequency of the team meeting is also one of the criteria, if you meet once in a week and team size is enough to accomodate in biggest meeting room at your work place, I suggest keep everyone in the meeting, If you have meeting on daily basis, better involve team leads only, sometimes I find team leads like the approach of having leads in regular meetings as they feel a sense of authority when chair the module meeting with their own team members.
