Dear Praveen
Interesting your question
Thanks for sharing

Have you read the integration management processes and what generates a change request?

Did you read the Risk Management processes?

What is the difference between implement risk response and approved change request?

Praveen -

An approved change request might indicate some new activities for the team to perform which is why it can be an input into Direct and Manage Work. On the other hand, Implement Risk Responses is about risk response owners taking the risk responses which we have previous planned in Plan Risk Responses and captured in the Risk Register and executing those responses.

CRs would not be an input into that process, but if the risk response is to make a change to one of the project's baselines then a CR might be an output and it would then be managed via Perform Integrated Change Control.

Hopefully that makes things clearer...

Kiron did explain this very well, I totally agree with his input. A risk response is not necessarily a change request so there is a difference but please note that at the end of the day, all knowledge areas interact and for you to implement a risk response, you might need to direct and manage some processes so in theory they might not look to you as if they interact but in reality they somehow do.

Hi Praveen,

No change request is necessary for implementing the risk response, which is already planned, unless the implementation affects project's baselines. Direct & Manage Work process as part of Integration knowledge area integrates all works during execution stage performed as part of other nine knowledge areas.

Coming to your question, supposing project base line is affected and official change request is submitted by PM and the same is approved by the CCB under Perform Integrated Change control process, the approved change request has to be implemented in direct & manage work process as approved change request is an input to to this process.

Hope you are satisfied with my clarification..
