I am interested in learning on the type of feedback, format (survey, f2f...), periodicity, follow up on points for improvement, link - if any - to additional compensation / bonus, etc.

In my actual work place we have a review each 3 month take feedback from our stakeholders. The feedback is structured or composed by a predefined framework first and then a free of use component. That´s helps us a lot to our continue improvement.

There are two measures which can be used for this:

1. Surveys with qualitative or quantitative feedback
2. Repeat business

#1 works well as an input into performance evaluations but #2 is the real measure of how well your stakeholders liked the team's work.

Thanks, Kiron. In case of internal projects, I assume that #1 would be then the only way to receive feedback.

Dear Eduard
Interesting your question
Thanks for sharing

It raises 4 types of questions:
- Frequency for data collection
- Method of collecting information
- Universe, sample and statistical validity
- Transformation of data into information

Aside from end of project surveys, I catch up with stakeholders throughout the project to receive feedback. Better than nasty little surprises at the end of the project.

Thanks, Sante, it's a good tip. Similarly to lessons learned, which some PM do post-mortem, I am keen on performing sessions at certain gates during project execution, to avoid capturing them too late!

One way to combine #2 with #1 for internal projects is to have a question which asks "If you had another project, would you want this team or this PM to deliver it?".

360 degrees evaluations are useful tools to get feedback from everyone with whom you interact. Don't forget to do your own self-assessment. You may find that you are harder on yourself than your stakeholders.

Stéphane, this is indeed a great tool. I did one this year in the context of a Leadership program, collecting feedback from managers to whom I report, peers and people that reported to me on the basis of projects (not organically). It was a good exercice to see how others see you and how this compares to how one sees himself. Some other participants (it was a group session) broke down in tears when they learned about this feedback.

Just ask them " how do you think I am going?"

If the time allows the best would be f2f, here probably you can decide to whom you want to dedicate how much time.

I plan such a session to exchange feedback after the finished project with Business Owner.

Lukasz
