As the year comes to an end, and given we are one big community family, it would be interesting to hear about each other’s achievements during the year:

- What did you achieve on a professional level ?
- What did you achieve on a personal level ?
- Did you follow a certain plan you set ?

On a personal level, the first half of 2019 was something I wouldn't want to repeat or wish on anyone else. The second half is making a decent turnaround.

Professionally, I've accomplished several objectives - A-CSM, Scrum@Scale, Prosci Change Management Professional, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training, and I'm working on digital transformation training. I've enjoyed my role in standing up a PMO and look forward to helping it grow.

2020 is mostly a blank slate. I have ideas, but they're not defined enough to call them plans.

Thank you for sharing your highlights with us.

Sorry to hear that 2019 wasn't a good year for you and I hear you as it was one of the worst years for me on a personal level family wise, health wise and financially - I thought 2018 was bad, but it was just an appetizer. Hopefully 2020 will be better for all of us.

Congrats on all your professional achievements and good luck with your role and future goals. You are a great member of this community.

Rami -

Professionally I achieved my ICP-ACC earlier this year and tried but was unable to achieve the PSM III credential. The latter bothers me in terms of the sunk cost but not the outcome as the feedback I received from the examiner on their evaluation of my answers shows that they don't live in the same delivery reality as I've been living for the past 20+ years.

Once the exam becomes available within the next month, I'm going to take the DALSM exam as the final step to being able to deliver that PMI/DA training in early 2020.

I also consciously decided I will focus on training first and only take on consulting work which is in support of that vs. trying to keep one foot in both camps.

I continued to contribute to the profession between my virtual community involvement here, as one of the volunteer community moderators on PMI's LinkedIn discussion group, my weekly blogging, presenting at ProjectWorld, like you, providing feedback on PMI's brand refresh during the summer, and like Andrew, I volunteered as an expert at the Ask an Expert sessions at PMI's Global Conference and have been busy reviewing draft content as part of Review Team 1 for the Seventh Edition of the PMBOK Guide.

Personally, I turned a half-century in the same year as PMI did :-). I bought a pool table and my game improved dramatically.

2019 wasn't all roses however - I lost a parent, and a few of my close friends suffered the same losses. Like you, on the personal front, I'm looking forward to a better 2020.
Kiron

Thank you for sharing your 2019 highlights.

Congratulations on your achievements and sorry to hear about the PSM III Exam. I trust you will inspect and adapt then nail the exam soon. I passed PSPO II recently and PSM III is on my radar.

You are a very valuable and key member of this community - Your contributions to this community are outstanding and inspiring.

Sorry to hear about your loss Kiron (R.I.P.) - I also lost my dear Grandmother this year, and I had my first operation ever which went south, it was a horrible experience.

Good Luck with your 2020 Goals - I hope next year will be a great year for you.

That was a typo - I am a certified trainer with the International Association of Project Managers (IAPM).

I did raise a question, you are right but I've noticed you concentrated on asking questions about my achievements (Which is totally fine) but you did not share yours. It would be nice to share as well, if you feel comfortable of course.

I feel sharing with each other in this community will let us know each other better even if it is virtually.

RK
Dear Rami
Thank you for your comment and for the answer to my question.

I am convinced PMI will create a new certification: Training Project Management trainers

I could have designed and created a pilot project and chosen some people to help test, validate and develop this certification.

My curiosity is a result of my belief :-)

This certification might be coming soon, maybe as part of Disciplined Agile. Thanks for your input.
