As the year comes to an end, and given we are one big community family, it would be interesting to hear about each other’s achievements during the year:

- What did you achieve on a professional level ?
- What did you achieve on a personal level ?
- Did you follow a certain plan you set ?

I will start with myself. On a professional level, in 2019:

1) Professional Development - I attained some of the certifications on my bucket list and exceeded my target:

AgilePM Practitioner, AgilePgM, PfMP, PMI-PBA, Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Agile Analysis Certification (IIBA-AAC), Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB), PMO Value Ring Certified Practitioner (PMO-CP), Professional Scrum Developer (PSD), Professional Scrum Product Owner II (PSPO II)

2) Became a certified Agile and Traditional Project Management Trainer with the International Association of Project Managers

3) Handed over two successful major projects to our client.

4) Volunteered, mostly with PMI, on different functions.

On a Personal Level, long story short, this wasn’t my year at all as I lost my dear Grandmother, and I had my first operation ever which went south so to sum it up, 2019 was a fruitful year Career and Development wise but not on a personal level. I am hoping for a better year in 2020.
I would like to share my achievement on a professional level rather personnel level.

I achieved PMP certification which I wanted since 2018 but eventually got it in August this year.
Secondly, I have started my youtube channel #pmpmastery where I share my knowledge within my niche.
Also, I have enrolled myself on some professional development courses to improve my professional and communication skills.
so I can conclude by saying that this year is far better than past 2-3 years.

Further, in the coming year I want to establish myself as a professional trainer for PMP certification.
wish me all the best.

Alexandre Costa Scrum Master| Integer Consulting - Pictet technologies Loures, Portugal
It was a busy year.

At professional level:
- I completed my specialization degree in Project Management.

- To complement my knowledge I attained some of the certifications and training's like PMI-CAPM , PMI-ACP and Lean Six Sigma Yellow belt.

- I was volunteer in the organization of the XIII conference PMI Portugal "Project Management and Digital Transformation"

- I was able to implement a Tailored Agile approach in software department with success.

- Was invited to attend in Japan Company head quarters to a week workshop entitled " How to work effectively across cultures"

- Finally was promoted to Lead Software Engineer.

At personal level:

- All went as predicted , saw my daughters grow and evolution.

At Plan Level:
- Yes i always follow a plan, due to my military background i always have 3 plans the predictable, the pessimistic and the optimistic, i have a nasty habit in the beginning of the year to create an excel sheet with year objectives and prioritize that objectives.

I would like that the optimistic plan was the correct prediction, and this was the year where i had the opportunity to assume a position of project manager at full time, due to my long labor experience and because in the past i already perform from time to time
functions in this area and because i have project management experience in areas that few persons have like defense and peace missions. That did not happen and the realistic plan was the best prediction of my year, the secret is not gave up and do not create plans with unrealistic achievements.

There will be always the next year and hope for the best.
