As the year comes to an end, and given we are one big community family, it would be interesting to hear about each other’s achievements during the year:

- What did you achieve on a professional level ?
- What did you achieve on a personal level ?
- Did you follow a certain plan you set ?

The moment has probably passed to post this, but sometimes you can only see what you achieved once it's well behind you.

Professionally my (small) team delivered an insanely ambitious project to a demanding customer with amazing results and in good time. Then we took the product open source... innovating. By the end of the year we expanded the team adding our first off shore developers and implementing a whole new set up.

Personally, I saw my daughter turn 18 which isn't completely my own achievement, but was satisfying nonetheless.

It's never too late. Thank you for sharing with us your 2019 highlights.

Congratulations on delivering a successful project and Happy 18th Birthday to your Daughter.

I wish you a fantastic 2020.

Cheers

I will start with myself. On a professional level, in 2019:

1) Professional Development - I attained some of the certifications on my bucket list and exceeded my target:

AgilePM Practitioner, AgilePgM, PfMP, PMI-PBA, Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Agile Analysis Certification (IIBA-AAC), Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB), PMO Value Ring Certified Practitioner (PMO-CP), Professional Scrum Developer (PSD), Professional Scrum Product Owner II (PSPO II)

2) Became a certified Agile and Traditional Project Management Trainer with the International Association of Project Managers

3) Handed over two successful major projects to our client.

4) Volunteered, mostly with PMI, on different functions.

On a Personal Level, long story short, this wasn’t my year at all as I lost my dear Grandmother, and I had my first operation ever which went south so to sum it up, 2019 was a fruitful year Career and Development wise but not on a personal level. I am hoping for a better year in 2020.
My deepest condolences on the loss of your grandmother.

2019 was a fantastic year for me both professionally and personally, and I can't wait to see what 2020 has in store for me.

Professionally:
1) My team completed one of the biggest projects our Enterprise has taken on. The project was completed on time, over budget but by no fault to the project team, and there were multiple secondary benefits that came from this project. We automated our computer deployment process, improved delivery time by 18x, developed enterprise-wide standards and have pushed through multiple polices to improve end-user experience.

2) I complete the Financial Account course provided through Harvard's Business School Online platform. It took 8 weeks of dedication but I made it through with flying colors.

3) I became involved with my department's budgeting process and now help manage $10m and help oversee purchasing.

4) I managed a business-critical project for one of our operating companies that was completed one month ahead of schedule.

5) I am developing a project management practice within my organization that is being widely adopted by all team members (I am the first, dedicated project manager in the organization).

Personally:
1) My wife and I sold our first house, bought land and built our dream home.

2) We are also expecting our second child in June 2020!! :)

It was a great year and I am so thankful for the opportunities that have been given to me.

Hi Rami,

I'm sorry for your losses last year. That is never a good thing, yet a necessary part of life. I wish you comfort as you grieve.

Professionally, I earned both my CSPO through Scrum Alliance, and PMI-PBA certification. This year I started working on an IT degree and just finished the training and exam to renew my Notary Public commission.

Personally, I finally made the decision to put solar panels on my house. Actually, they're going in the backyard since we have the property and my roof has too many vents in it to house all the panels. Looking forward to low energy bills!

Thanks for the opportunity to post!
