As the year comes to an end, and given we are one big community family, it would be interesting to hear about each other’s achievements during the year:

- What did you achieve on a professional level ?
- What did you achieve on a personal level ?
- Did you follow a certain plan you set ?

I will start with myself. On a professional level, in 2019:

1) Professional Development - I attained some of the certifications on my bucket list and exceeded my target:

AgilePM Practitioner, AgilePgM, PfMP, PMI-PBA, Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Agile Analysis Certification (IIBA-AAC), Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB), PMO Value Ring Certified Practitioner (PMO-CP), Professional Scrum Developer (PSD), Professional Scrum Product Owner II (PSPO II)

2) Became a certified Agile and Traditional Project Management Trainer with the International Association of Project Managers

3) Handed over two successful major projects to our client.

4) Volunteered, mostly with PMI, on different functions.

On a Personal Level, long story short, this wasn’t my year at all as I lost my dear Grandmother, and I had my first operation ever which went south so to sum it up, 2019 was a fruitful year Career and Development wise but not on a personal level. I am hoping for a better year in 2020.

Thank you for sharing. You are really qualified. I would love to work on a project with you to see how all this expertise works together. You must be a genius of sorts.

Sorry about the personal not going well. Hope no major impacts of the operation gone South.

Is 2020 going better?

Thanks a lot for your kind feedback and compliment, much appreciated.

So far, given everything going on, 2020 is just OK but I guess its tough for everyone.

How about you ? What are your professional development plans ?

Stay Safe.

At the start of this year I was part of and closed a big data center consolidation project. This was my first large scale project and with the incredible team we were able to hit out goal dates and seal it up the project successfully. Later in the year I was asked to be part of the EDW clean up and cloud configuration. Since the start my role has now expanded and extended into being the lead for the EDW cloud conversion. I am excited and proud at the same time. Personally, I have been thrown into working from home both for the virus and also because I take care of my 84 yr old mom who lives 3 floors down from my condo. She needs stimuli so in between work we exercise, bake and talk. She misses her friends and the social life she had, it is hard at times but inadvertently she has helped me keep fit as well!

Thanks for sharing this with the community, much appreciated.

Glad you are doing great on a professional level and I hope this situation of the COVID19 will resolve soon. It's been tough for the younger generation so I can totally understand how tough it is for your mom. I hope she remains in good health.

Please stay safe and healthy.

Rami, despite the personal challenges you faced in 2019, I bet that as you look at where we are in 2020, 2019 seems so much brighter in hindsight. Be well :):)

Thank You - Believe it or not, I’d take 2020 over 2019. That was one of the toughest years in my life.

Stay safe and healthy.
