Austin HabichInfrastructure Project Manager| Washington CorporationsMissoula, Mt, United States
My company allocates a certain amount of money per year for training. We can choose whatever course, subject, certification, etc we see fit. I have my PMP certification and have taken a handful of courses PMI offers but want to know: What would be a good course/seminar/webinar, etc to take that would help advance my career beyond a project manager?
I have been a project manager for over 7 years and would like to start building my skillset for the next level up. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Saving Changes...
What interests you? What types of work are you passionate about? What are you curious about? What would you like to be doing within the next five years?
Once you can answer those questions and build a personal development plan based on that information, you might be able to answer your own question...

Hey Austin. I'm totally in agreement with Kiron.
Before you start investing your time (and money), consider what you've been working on, what experience you've acquired and most importantly, where your goals and interests are. There are sooooo many paths and therefore courses you can take.
Treat this like a project.
I'd be happy to get on a call with you to chat further.
All the best
Lilli

If only we start implementing what we learned thro the PMP treadmill
That's enough for a lifetime
Yes further certifications is exciting
We can keep learning and implementing and discover our passions

Hey Austin,
I concur with Rami. The CSM (Certified Scrum Master) cert would compliment your PMP quite nicely and it will diversify you background.
Yes, the logical step these days seems to be an Agile certification, like the PMI-ACP.

I have done PMI-ACP, PMI-RMP, SAFe-SA , CSM after completing my PMP. This all will add value to your career. If you are planning for Agile then best route is CSM, PMI-ACP and then SAFe.

Dear Austin
Interesting your question
Thanks for sharing
If you have experience as a project manager and want to evolve in your career you can be sure to:
- Program Manager
- Portfolio Manager
You can opt for organizational transformation
It seems interesting to me the proposal of FLEX
You might want to deepen your management skills, in which case how about an MBA?
The important thing is to know where you want to go
And then, how to get there

I agree with all the suggestions especially the upward progress of venturing into program and portfolio management around the industries and topics/organizations that interest you.
It is really hard to say. It has to do with a lot of things. Saving Changes...

Consider online university courses. They will give you a chance to explore areas that might interest you. They might also be useful for the educational requirement of your next certification.

Online University Courses are good choices. They will let you keep your job unlike full time courses
