What is the difference between "Project Planning" and "Project Controls"?
I believe, "Project Planning" is part of project management, which relates to the use of schedules such as Gantt charts to plan and subsequently report progress within the project environment. In my opinion: - Planning the project is choosing what you will do to achieve the objectives (what concrete actions you will take, the people and resources you will use, the time it will take and the cost required to carry out those actions, the positive and negative impacts that you will have will follow the actions you will perform)

To put it simply, "Project Planning" is setting the targets for the project (scope, time, cost etc.). "Project Control" is everything that you do to measure where you stand vis-a-vis the target and likely corrective action to be taken.
