Dears,
I have the following question please. If CPI= 0.7 & SPI = 0.8, and we ask to work overtime. Will CPI stay the same, increase, decrease?
Best Regards,

Dear Riad
Interesting this question
Thanks for sharing
If CPI = 0.7 & SPI = 0.8 means the project is late and over cost
If you work overtime, it will be costly and doing so will also take time.
Under what circumstances will you get the EV / AC and EV / PV ratios to be 1 or positive? Saving Changes...

The answer I will right is obvious but think about it. It will change if because you are working extra time EV or AC change. Here comes things like if you will pay extra cost because the extra time or not. Saving Changes...
CPI looks at actual cost relative to the planned cost for completing a work package. Overtime is independent of this - if you spend more time in a given time duration but the effort spent matches what was planned for that work package, then CPI = 1. As such, overtime would affect SPI but not CPI.
Now if team members are paid a higher hourly rate for overtime then CPI could be below 1 as the cost per unit of work completed would be higher than if it was done at a regular hourly billing rate.

The only thing overtime can help is your scheduled value (SV). Your AC and EV will go up quicker than your SV. Saving Changes...
