Dear Rami Thank you for participating in this reflection and for your opinion.
These meetings I referred to as "daily meetings" have a maximum duration of 15 minutes, are held early in the day, and are intended for people to talk about what they are going to do.
Luis
That’s different then, your question doesn’t imply this at all.
Regarding the daily meeting in the morning, we used todo this every morning on our construction projects and it was called Tool Box Talk that was mainly related to safety then each team leader talks to his crew separately about the work.
It was a very important meeting for us.

Dear Rami:
We can give different names for events of a similar nature.
Are you in agreement?
I fully understand the importance of these meetings for the organization, the project manager and the team leaders.
What did the team members say about these meetings?
Is it a sustainable practice for medium and long term projects?

If the time is used well, then these are invaluable.
In SCRUM, we use a daily stand up meeting to ensure clear comms on 3 key questions:
1: What did you accomplish since the last meeting?
2: What are you working on until the next meeting?
3: What is getting in your way or keeping you from doing your job?
Enforcing these as a stand up encourages a quick turnaround on updates and pass to the next person. Where a quick answer can resolve someone's challenge, it can be provided as part of the stand up by the PM/ScrumMaster or another team member. Where an issue needs further detailed discussion, arrange a follow-up meeting with anyone required to resolve, not the whole team.
A great start to the day, in my opinion.

Dear Karl
Thank you for participating in this reflection and for your opinion.
What do the members say about this practice?
In your opinion, is it sustainable in the medium and long term?
Well, short daily meetings are a cornerstone of agile project management. And it can help the project to be success. It is not a meeting to know the status of the project but, to address three questions: What did they do yesterday? What will they do today? What roadblocks stand in their way?

Yes, you can give different names but you need to specify what meeting are you talking about so I am in partial, not full, agreement with you.
Those meetings were great as we took the opportunity to recognize team members and motivate people.
This is a sustainable practice in every construction project Ive managed.

Hey Luis,
Certainly within an Agile environment, yes. These fit well with the shorter 'Sprint' approach with usually 2 - 4 week Sprint deliveries.
May not be as relevant on a larger waterfall approach, but checking in with the team on a daily basis is something I will do on any size project I am running.

It all depends on the work, but I prefer weekly meetings for my projects. However, we all communicate throughout the day which will help us to keep updated.

Dear Anish
Thank you for participating in this reflection and for your opinion.
How do you approach the weekly meetings versus daily meetings approach?
What about your team?
The objectives and processes used for your weekly meetings are identical to those of a daily meeting:
1: What did you accomplish since the last meeting?
2: What are you working on until the next meeting?
3: What is getting in your way or keeping you from doing your job?
If you switched to daily meetings, how would your team react?
Do you consider that the practice of daily meetings is sustainable in the medium and long term?
