I didn't know all that...thanks all you for sharing. I'm not R.E.P, however when I worked for one, I realized that there was a need of train of trainers, I heard about super good trainers and a very poor ones.

Dear Rami
Thank you for participating in this reflection and for your opinion.

I fully understand that PMI is interested in the people giving training ensuring the minimum quality of preparation

Is the exam not selective enough?

When a person enrolls in the exam, he or she shares with PMI where they took the preparation course.

Is the treatment of these data not sufficient to audit the REP's with the highest failure rate?

Simply use the technology
I agree. Include who is the actual trainer from the REP in your records. From PMP exam results statistics, PMI can figure out not just the REP but also the good from the bad trainers. Until then, dont chnage the system.

Is this yet another way to help PMI's coffers or a real initiative to ensure the training must at least meet the minimum quality standard?

If it's the later, how can you gauge a trainer's quality of delivery except to see them in action, and pose questions during delivery to see how the open ended questions are responded to as a show of competence?

How much time to test the trainers, number of questions to asked, who are qualified to be examiners/testers.

The current REP systems control bring little value to assure the public of PMI contribution. A check of REP handouts is nothing. It may be good but it is the individuals conducting the training that matters and many are truly lacking in terms of knowledge, exposure and biz skills to even understand what they teach. Unless competency tested, the decay in quality education will continue.
Spot on. REP submit their best trainers training materials but use the cheepest resource to do the training and who can blame them.

Is PMI truly non-profit oriented? Show us how you are doing and maintaining that !

Thoke Pedersen Honolulu, Hi, United States
I see 3 challenges at least.
REP fees are going to be $6,999 - $9,999 +$99 per student.
Have to use official materials.
and for the online REPs "Authorized Training Partners may NOT deliver
on-demand, self-paced PMP® exam prep."

Good Discussion!
Please, add some consideration about the PMP material for training.
For example:
- Who is already qualified to supply education materials?
- How to be qualified?
- How it will be quoted for trainers and for students?
Thanks.

It will be interesting to see how many current REPs choose NOT to join the new ATP program yet continue to deliver PMP prep training using their own materials.
