I'm like Kiron, Luis: I don't have to schedule it, it will happen. I just don't know what it will be until VRMS tells me.
Dear Stéphane
Your example is inspiring.
Thank you very much Saving Changes...

Hello Luis: giving back to our community is so important! This year I'll continue reviewing articles for the PMI Volunteer Standards team and on January 7 I'll be sharing a LIVE webinar on workplace bullying. Every time I think I am giving back, I learn so much! Even sharing on these discussion boards is another valuable way to "volunteer". By putting ourselves out there to discuss, learn and support one another is a win/win for us all. I am so proud of you and others for all you do to give back to your community! Thank you!
Dear Lori
Thank you for participating in this reflection and for your opinion.
We agree that giving back to our community is so important!
It will be a privilege for me to watch your webinar. I have already signed up.
I often read carefully what it publishes as well as its contribution to the reflection of the issues.
Thank you for being an inspiring person Saving Changes...

Dear Rami
Thank you for participating in this reflection and for your opinion.
As these volunteer activities (here at ProjectManagement.com, in chapters, with PMIEF or or other PMI activities) consume some, from our time we might want to reflect on:
- How important is volunteering in my life?
- What is my purpose in embracing PMI volunteering
- How long will I spend on these activities?
Luis,
I will answer all your questions with a quote for:
It reminded me of the dialogue between Alice and the Cat :-) Saving Changes...

I never schedule this activities, just happen according with the necessities of PMI and the oportunities. This year I have the pleasure and the honour of participating in the organization of the :
PMI Portugal Chapter main annual event, where the project management community comes together.
The theme of the XIII annual conference is “Project Management and the Challenge of Digital Transformation”.
My help as many others volunteers and of the Board of directors make it possible to spread knowledge about project management and exchange experiences through renoun key speakers.
Is our responsability to also give back to the comunity and helping others to grow within our capabilities.

Dear Alexandre
Thank you for participating in this reflection and for your opinion.
We agree that giving back to our community is very important!
In addition to being a volunteer in organizing the PMI Portugal Conference you can participate in multiple volunteer activities around the world.
I therefore consider it important to reflect:
- How important is volunteering in my life?
- What is my purpose in embracing PMI volunteering
- How long will I spend on these activities?

In this reflection all points are valid, volunteer work should not be restricted to PMI. The comunity as more broader necessities and gaps.
In my life, volunteer work is always important acording with the time I have and my capabilities. I embraced in the past several volunteer activites :
1 - forest fire survailance in my youth. ( summer months ). 2 - health care activities in militar conflict zones out of my work hours. ( about 2 hours a day, 4 days a week during six months) 3 - Volunteer activities in PMI, as conferences support and charitable articles. ( several hours)
I think the time spent in this activities should be enougth to actually perform something meanfull otherwise we should not commit with the activitie, being volunteer is not a escuse to not do a professional work.
My purpose in all activities is to share and learn with the comunity, networking and make friends, this way we can contribute to improve society and improve our selfs as persons. Clearly we can increase our experiences in several domains improving communication, leading with different cultures.
Regarding to PMI Share the little I know with others and learn with them, improving communication, leadership skills is always usufull in Project management but also in life in só many areas. Probably in this social network the main interest is focused in Project management and all related areas.
