Stakeholder analysis is performed by project manager/project team using different tools and techniques. During the analysis there might be some finding about some stakeholders that might hurt them if revealed. So as per PMI standards, what is recommended about distribution of stakeholder analysis outcome and stakeholder register among the same/all stakeholders?

Stakeholder analysis is on "Influence", "Power" and "Interest" regarding the project
The objective is to define the best communication strategy for your involvement in the project.

I would like to understand better: "During the analysis there might be some finding about some stakeholders that might hurt them if revealed"

During the analysis the project team might find one stakeholder is resistant although the stakeholder thinks himself supportive of the project. If this outcome is shared with that stakeholder, he might not take it sportingly. This is one of the example of what I meant.

It depends on the organizational cultre, at least in my personal experience. For example, in my actual work place, stakehodler anaysis is published and it is a document that must be agreed and signed off as part of our governance process. If a result for a stakeholder is not what it could be or something like that in my actual work place it is taken as an opportunity to work with the stakeholder to help of project goal achievement.

Mohammad -

Given the subjective nature of what is in the stakeholder register and the potential issues which could arise if certain (especially external) stakeholders learn its contents, I've often seen only specific content within it being shared with key stakeholders.
