Dear Kiron
Wrote: "BTW, Rami, you & I won't be able to take the pilot new exam just to learn about the changes - it's only for folks who don't already hold the PMP credential."

The idea I got is another.

Taken from the site:
"- Dates to sit for the pilot exam are 9 March through 20 March
- The pilot exam is available in English language only.
- PMI Members will receive a rebate of USD $ 81 for the $ 405 exam fee.
- Non-PMI Members will receive a rebate of USD $ 111 for the $ 555 exam fee.
- All pilot participants are eligible for re-take of the exam at no cost.
- 600 participants, with global representation, will be accepted.
- Pilot participants should prepare using the PMP® Exam Content Outline and the list of top used reference books.
- PMP® candidates can choose to participate in the pilot when they pay for their exam.
- Pilot participants will not receive a pass / fail score immediately after taking the exam but will receive their results in May 2020. "
Luis

What Kiron meant is that if you are already a PMP you can't participate in this pilot initiative for the new PMP exam.

Dear Rami
Thank you for participating in this reflection, for indicating sources for us to attend this conversation and for your opinion.

In your opinion should we share the links of this conversation here?

What is more important?
Sensitivity or if the number of responses statistically relevant?

On the other hand, it was mentioned that there were many focus groups that allow qualitative answers in relation to the topics addressed.
Luis

I don't see why not. It is an internal link PMI so I don't think there will be any problem and if there was, Heather will let you know. It's not a big deal.

Sensitivity is affected by the number of responses so both are important.

the content you shared comes from the REP micro-site. Other folks have copied and posted or linked this content to posts on LinkedIn, so it is "out there".

I think is gonna impact big the preparation for the PMP certification, at first it would be hard to proccess the changes but eventually with the time it get used to.

I just got the certification and the differences for the new exams to add more information in the currently that you know.

I wish that PMP get more information or update the PMBOK GUIDE with agile.

Having seen the draft sections of the PMBOK Guide, 7th edition, I believe you will be happy with the increased volume of agile/hybrid content within it.

Remember that it is focusing on all projects, not just those delivered using adaptive lifecycles so the Guide will never have the same volume of agile-focused content as the Agile Practice Guide.

I just watched both segments of the interview which Sunil did with Sierra. There was nothing new shared beyond what had been shared at the Philadelphia GC. Sierra just reinforced the message that the types of questions will be changing from only single answer multiple choice to include richer question types.

Rami, regarding simplifying the application process - I wasn't referring to making the prerequisites easier, rather the actual online app which is used to capture the application info will be simplified as it is somewhat onerous at present.

I just realized after watching the video that if I grew a goatee again, I could probably go Trick or Treating next Halloween as Sunil (of course, he could shave his off and do the same for me!).

Good One, you might want to work on your British Accent though.

Frankly speaking, I like how Sunil is handling things, you can see a big shift in the way they engage their members frequently in whats going on.

Not all of us had a chance to be in Philadelphia :-) (I know some people who were invited to participate but didn't have a chance to be there)

At some point she talks about the questions to validate the exam (for the pilot exam)

I got the feeling that all volunteers (PMP certified or not) could participate in the exam

Hello everyone.
I have listened to the interview and there are two issues in my view:
1. PMI are developing a new PMBOK 7th edition due probably end 2020 beginning 2021 that will be "principle-based" instead of being "process-based". The new ECO for the examination is 51% process-based. So, there is an evident risk that whoever will invest effort in updating courseware to the new ECO will need to repeat the effort in a short period of time
2. The repeated declaration that "we at PMI are preparing a new REP program by which REPs will have access to PMI-developed training materials..." might involve that they are willing to strengthen the relationship with REPs at the disadvantage of independent qualified trainers not belonging to a REP

1. The PMBOK Guide has never been and will never be the single reference source for the PMP exam. PMI has provided a list of references for the new exam on their website and the Guide is only one of those. On top of that, a lot of the process/ITTO info which used to be in the old Guide will be migrating to Standards Plus (their online knowledge base).

2. This is not something which the REP community is particularly keen on either - there has been significant frustration and resistance expressed by REPs about the need to license PMI's PMP prep materials and having to go through their instructor certification program. Many REPs feel this is weakening the relationship...
