Does anyone know if the Status Manager can be assigned on a resource level rather than a task level?

Dear Alan
Interesting your question
Thanks for sharing

What do you think is the best way to do it?

Alan -

1 - it would be helpful to put your question in the title of your post. "Hello" is hardly a descriptive title and is unlikely to inspire most folks to click on it.

2 - what is a "Status Manager" - this is not a standard or well recognized role?

Dear Alan

Is the question specific to best practice or more on the tool side?

The Status Manager field of a task in Microsoft Project contains the name of the enterprise resource who is to receive status updates for the current task. It has been implemented at task level.

As Verónica replied, the Status Manager in MS Project is task field related.

Microsoft defines it as "The Status Manager field contains the name of the enterprise resource who is to receive status updates for the current task from resources working in Project Web App".

I have never used it, but my interpretation is that the Status Manager for a particular task will received progress updates from the resources assigned to that task.

Now, back to your posting. What is it that you are trying to achieve?

Status Manager, as least in my personal experience inside organization that used it, is the role that integrate all the data and create the status reports that are published to all stakeholders. So, always is at activity level.
