Hello,

When I go back and try to convince my self about this process I used to think and think about it.

This process is in executing process group and used to be done in executing when we acquire a lot of resource to perform/work within project. even if one of you told me the processes performing under "progressive Elaboration" or iterative. The problem which I think about it it is when performing "predictive live cycle project "= "Waterfall". I think we project managers obtain the project baseline and got approved it before this process.
so this process becoming a SOURCE of " change request " specially in predictive life cycle?
Thanks for your sharing your thoughts and your about your practical experiences.

BR,
Mansour

Acquire resources mean translate roles or translate equipment or any other type of resources in names, name them, make them consice instead of abstracted. That´s because you see it inside execution. I mean, before this process, you work with role, for example project manager. In this process you translate project manager to Sergio Conte and you go to engage him to the project as project manager (I now, you can see is not a good example due to the project manager is named into project charter, but it is just an example). So, depending on your approach, depending on your organizational culture, you can work on that with different timming. For example, in my case, I go for all the people and any other type of resources in the very begining because it could impact all the project planning.

To add to Sergio's excellent feedback, I'd suggest you may be confusing the executing process group with an execution phase on a project. Remember that PMBOK process groups are NOT phases. As such, you very likely might be executing some Executing processes during your planning phase...
