Sorry if this has already been shared (I didn't find it), but I want to make sure everyone knows that LinkedIn now has badges you can earn. You have to go to your profile and take short quizzes to prove your competency, and then you earn a badge that recruiters can see. It's a way of confirming the skills that you claim to have.

The available badges seem mostly focused on software development and MS Office products, but this currently includes MS Project.

Yes, this is something new and cool. They are in testing phase, they didn't yet do Quizzes for all skills but its coming.

Most of the quizzes currently available are for software, somehow.

I got a badge for excel, I wonder though were it does display, do you know ?

I have noticed, though the options seemed somewhat limited, at least in the areas that would support my career.

Rami, your info helps. Glad to hear it is still growing. I'll keep an eye on it. Haven't dug in for a few months.

Thanks Andrew - I took the Excel one today but can't location the badge.

Few more thing worth mentioning:

1- If you pass, the badge is available only for 12 months.
2- If you fail, you can retake the quiz in 3 Months.

Didn't know about the block if I failed. I took some quizzes out of curiosity; glad I passed!

I believe if that's so, the effects of gamification will start being tiring after the first few renewals...

Vincent, don’t sweat it, it’s a 10 minutes fun quiz. No big deal and no pressure, it just promotes your profile.

Wade,

The badges are won by performing some simple quizzes with success. In my opinion don't add value to the profile, it's a child's play.

I got the badge for MS Project. Did not know that it expired after 12 months. Luckily the Microsort certification doesn't, and adds more value.

Eduard, where do you see the badge ? And does it look like a blue box with a check mark in it ? That’s what I got for my Excel one and you can only see it when you go down to your skills and look at this specific skill. Is that correct or am I missing something?
