Considering the approach of Prof. Oinas-Kukkonen on the wisdom of the crowds:

1. It is possible to describe how people in a group think as a whole.

2. In some cases, groups are remarkably intelligent and are often smarter than the smartest people in them.

3. The three conditions for a group to be intelligent are diversity, independence, and decentralization.

4. The best decisions are a product of disagreement and contest.

5. Too much communication can make the group as a whole less intelligent.

6. Information aggregation functionality is needed.

7. The right information needs to be delivered to the right people in the right place, at the right time, and in the right way.

8. There is no need to chase the expert.

Diversity and courage are key. You need people who see things differently and willing to share and discuss their point of view.

Dear Stéphane
Thank you for participating in this reflection and for your opinion.

Interesting what he wrote: "Diversity and courage are key. You need people who see things differently and willing to share and discuss their point of view"

Had the opportunity to read the 8 points of Prof. Oinas-Kukkonen?

What is your opinion about his approach?

Dear Stéphane:
Thanks for your opinion

What do you consider:
"nothing new under the sun"?

The conclusions of Prof. Oinas-Kukkonen?

Or do we take these conclusions seriously?

Distill the good professor's points and it comes down to:

1. Staff the team with as much diversity of experience and background as possible

2. Encourage "true" collaboration - making the whole greater than the sum of the parts

3. Make psychological safety a priority

4. Empower them (within enterprise guardrails) and then support their self-management

Interestingly we have different perspectives (interpretations) of the proposal of Prof. Oinas-Kukkonen

Want to reflect, point by point together?

I haven't seen you here in a long time
Is everything ok with you?
I take the opportunity to have 2020 bring you everything you want

Can you better explain your point of view?
