What is an average salary IT Project Manager in your country?

In Poland acc. to one the reports I have seen it is 17 000 PLN monthly, which should be 4 478 USD. This is of course with taxes, working for a company, not as a freelancer

The amount - 17 000 has significantly increased since last year (+10%)

but it is only one report (Hays) as a source...

I would say that that here is Canada (Capital region), those in the government earn between CAN$80K - $130K. That is minimum 5 yrs experience all the way up to 15 yts minimum for the higher salaries.

In my experience, project managers whose titles are not PM specific often have higher income potential than those with the title. HR departments do salary reviews based on titles, and since the role of a project manager may be anything from an “administrative schedule manager” to a project manager who acts as the “project-executive,” the ranges can be extreme and quite often wrong for the position they are comparing to in their organization.

If you look at manager and director positions that have a PMP requirement, you may start to see other opportunities that are project manager positions, but have been obfuscated to create a salary range which will entice higher-end candidates.

The problem with trying to use an average is that there are extremely broad views on the actual responsibilities of a PM. Some employers consider it mostly an administrative role, while others a very responsible leadership role. I did an online search and even the average ranged from $75k to 140, per year in the US. Each site listed a different value. That tells me that even the websites dedicated to those metrics aren't using the same datasets.
Thank you Keith, anyway even if the range is quite broad I see it is still a big potential for salary increase in Poland

Keith,

You are right, some PM manage projects value of $100K other in $ 10B, are salary equal? I don't think so.
Industries are not easy to compare also.
Then there is the level of PM, different from an organization to the next.

Add to that cost of living in a country or a region.

Difficult to compare
You are right, there are many dependancies, I wanted to increase my awareness, especially looking if there are comparable cases to mine

Dear Lukasz
Interesting your question
Thanks for sharing

It depends on your bargaining power of company and and project size
Right Luis, however, would you able to share what is the average for Portugal?

$100 k to $140k are quite common Project Manager salaries here in Melbourne and Sydney . You sometimes get the odd $80k/90k offers from small companies.
$150k and Above are generally salary brackets suited to Senior Project Managers or Program Managers.
These are generally long term contracts or Full time permanent roles.

On the other spectrum short term PM Contract (6-12 months) rates generally tend to be quite higher (approx $800 - $1200 a day ) because of the inherent hire and fire risk involved
Thank you fo the precise answer

In Canada we start with the number of years in your average life expectancy, subtract the number of years lost due to working in PM, and multiply by...well something.....
Sounds complicated :??
