Are you referring to the heady mixture of dopamine, oxytocin & endorphins as referenced by David JP Phillips?
If so, then storytelling IS a powerful tool which anyone (not just PMs) can use to mix Angel's Cocktails for stakeholders to increase their level of engagement in a project.

David JP Philips presentation is awesome.
One of his other relevant ones is "How to Avoid Death by PowerPoint".

Dear João
Thank you for participating in this reflection and for your opinion.
I also found JP Philips' presentation on "How to Avoid Death by PowerPoint" very interesting
Returning to Angel's Cocktails
How can the Project Manager "drink" Angel's Cocktail?
What about the other project stakeholders?
What impact, in your opinion, could it have on the performance of the project?
Honestly I had not heard of it before I looked it up on Internet. To me it looks like another spin off of a motivation speaker who is trying to develop their own niche in the ever crowded market place of motivation and inspiration coaches. Most people would instead call it those who drink coffee and those who don't drink coffee.

Dear Daire
Thank you for participating in this reflection and for your opinion.
Interesting that you consider it to be just an approach to motivation aimed at a specific target audience
But ... can you go deeper about the ingredients of Angel's Cocktail, the effects it has on our body and how we "drink"?
I'll be waiting :-)

I am struggling to see the depth of this approach to marketing, and that is what it is. Storytelling and selling a product is what marketing is all about. You create the need in the consumer to purchase your product and they in turn become a customer. Its no different from the 'high' we get when we spend money and purchase something new. It's only a temporary feeling that we become enthralled by and need to repeat. The experience and the natural chemicals released into our bodies becomes associated with the action so we become conditioned to associate a specific experience with a specific pleasure.

The substances that are the ingredients of Angel's Cocktail are Neurotransmitters and Hormones
One is a message in the form of a chemical and one is chemical that is release into the blood stream as a result of this message. But you are forgetting the stimulus, what is the trigger for this process to occur. That is the most important part of the situations as scenarios can be created into fooling the body into starting the process. For example artificial sweeteners fool the brain into thinking that something is sweet when in reality it is only 'tricking' the brain into thinking that. By creating an environment, such as being discussed, you are setting the stage into allowing yourself to be 'tricked'. A degree of cynicism in measured form is healthy and by questioning something and not taking it at face value we can learn more about ourselves and the environment we inhabit.
