"The metaphor I like to use is the caterpillar transforming into a butterfly. The caterpillar isn’t just slimming down and crawling faster. The caterpillar is now a completely different entity, not just in terms of appearance, but in terms of actions, needs and capabilities. Looking at the two side by side, you would never imagine that the two were in any way related, much less the same. That’s transformation"- John Hagel

Do you participate in projects that turn caterpillar into a butterfly?

Or

You are you focused on deploying digital technology across the company to do what the company has always done, just faster and cheaper?

Working on it, but not every project is a transformation. Even if you accept the following definition - Transformation involves fundamentally changing how you do things without regard for the past - it is still possible to do new things without transforming, and sometimes that is all that is needed.

I would say "the easy projects" but I do like the occasional challenge. My total workload has more impact on how I feel about a given project, than anything else. When you compound a challenging project with a challenging workload it becomes less enjoyable.

If you are truly transforming a company, you are more likely to have a portfolio of projects; it's more than a single project. If transforming a company was a single project, that would probably be one I would not enjoy because it's trying to do to much and likely not going anywhere.

Hi Louis

I am currently focused on :-

Deploying digital technology and new tool-set across the company to uplift the organisation's Cyber Security capability . That capability has been hitherto manual or did not exist.

Enhancing digital technology that did exist to protect the organisation from Cyber Security incidents.

Dear Ramadan
Thank you for participating in this reflection and for your question

In the project management domain you can start using integrated solutions in the cloud (for example, Microsoft solutions)

You can also manage projects related to Artificial Intelligence (for example: data mining, creating algorithms according to the needs of organizations)
