I have been using MS Project for years and never encountered this problem. I am creating a plan. I link up a bunch of tasks creating dependencies with constraints, etc. I save the file. When I reopen the file, all of the links are gone and each task has reverted back to the project start date! It saves all of the other changes i make in the file ie: fonts, resources, notes, etc.... all the links just disappear!

I am not aware of this issue, Gail. The only thing I would double-check is the file version against the software version. You might get more feedback by posting your problem on the Microsoft Project User Group (MPUG) site.

Dear Gail
Interesting your question
Thanks for sharing
I am convinced that it is better to discuss this matter directly with Microsoft

I wish you can resolve the situation

Is your file saved in the Project 2010 MPP format? Try saving it as a MPX to see if it helps. (MPX is meant to allow moving projects between versions.)

Gail -

Have you tried this from a co-worker's computer to see if it is something which has corrupted your version of MSP? You might also try it with a trial version of a newer version of MSP to see if the same behavior occurs.

Does this only happen with one schedule file or with all schedules?

Gail,

Have you reached a limit of MS Project?
I once did on another MS application, Excel. It has some limits to the number of styles for example.
