In a digital era, the pin will go digital.

So we can print it, and put on our suit to look professional and serious.

Intriguing direction PMI is taking.

Why not just print the new logo!

What do you think of this new direction concerning the pin?

Dear Vincent
Interesting your question

Thanks for sharing

What matters is that I already have mine :-)
Luis,

For those who got the pin and still have it, like I said perfect. Futur PMP will not get the physical pin. Is the pin comparable with Engineers and their ring?

Dear Vincent
I use my pin every day (I even have a replacement)
I use the pin since I was VP for Marketing at PMI Portugal Chapter in 2016

I don't compare it to the Order of Engineers pin but I am proud to use it (I don't use the Order of Engineers :-))

Sergio, I certainly respect that choice.
To be honest, I do not use pins no matter I have some of them because the organizations I belongs to and I was recognized because a certification, title or contributions made. I think it is a need for some people that was very well analyzed by Masslow. It has no sense for me. Just in case I have to use a pin due to the need to identification or due to national holiday the only pin I use is the Argentine Flag what I call "escarapela" (I do not know the translation to english). Is the only thing I am proud: being Argentine.

Okay. Interesting. As in 3D-Printing?
Andrew,

That could be it, you have found a solution. Maybe we can do the 3D print in various colours, to correspond to our actual mood.

Abolfazl,

Make sense not to have the physical pin? I think people should have both to reflect the communication we have these days.

Dear Luis,

What do you suggest for people who won't get the pin? They would not be able to wear it proudly the pin to a social event. Print the digital version and stick it to their suit, or a tattoo.

Dear Vincent,

The move towards wearable technology. People have already inserted microchips under their skin so that they can open all the doors in their house. I suppose it is reality catching up with science Fiction.

Daire,

Interestingly we would be able to have PMI under our skin! Will it be switchable on and off? Blink when in the presence of another PMP.

Science fiction coming to us

You should be able to order the digital version later in February. What you gone wear is not clear, print on paper, in 3D, or under your skin.

Dear Vincent
I think the purpose is not for people to use the pin at social events ...
I am convinced that it applies more to social networks ... people display the pin on social networks

Anyway ... will it be (I am talking in the medium and long term) the pride of using the PMP pin will it be maintained?

I don't know why ... but I can see that there is a temptation to popularize this certification (easier exams)
