Both platforms are very interesting to me and I am very active on both:
1) LinkedIn offers more diversity in opinions, industries and exposes you to different things than just project management.
2) Projectmanagement.com is a platform for project management practitioners mostly so most of the subject discussed here, articles and webinars are related to project management.
3) LinkedIn offers the opportunity to connect to a wider audience but your level of secutiy exposure is higher as your profile is somehow open to more than 360 Million people.
4) Projectmanagement.com site is very basic. You can't add emojis, likes, videos, photos, or even edit comments and so on. In a way this is good because it minimizes security breaches but on the other hand it is restrictive.
5) On LinkedIn, your exposure to recruiters and job search is much wider and more diverse.
Those are my quick 2 cents.

Globally , to seek jobs or to advertise our profile, LinkedIn is by far more effective in a labour perspective.
Project Management.com is more effective to acquire knowledge, obtain tools of PM, to exchange ideas and clarify doubts, for PMP's obtain PDU's and to some advertise and sell their services directly throw offering or indirectly by built a reputation and network but I think this works mainly to EUA and Canada.

I only can consider facts. 1 - All that is new, happens in EUA and Canada before happening else where. 2 - The major events occur frequently in EUA, and that some events every now and then in the rest of the world. 3 - The first persons to have access to new certifications and become instructors are from EUA and Canada , everyone's know that the first ones are always in advantage.(BCG Matrix) 4 - You can build a world network , but is really effective or is just a bunch of connections. 5 - In the end the center of the world is EUA. 6 - A concrete sample, for example for DA upcoming workshops in the next months:
American continent: ( until April more or less) Canada - 10 workshops USA. - 7 workshops Mexico - 9 workshops Brazil - 1 workshop
Rest of the world Italy - 1 workshop UNITED KINGDOM - 1 workshop NEW ZEALAND - 1 workshop Romania - to be annouced SOUTH AFRICA - to be annouced
America 27 - Rest of world 5, way to unbalanced Fact : American continent is the center of the world
7 -. Who are the reviewers of PMBOK7 , I could bet that about 70% are from American continent.
I rarely find that LinkedIn discussions will challenge me intellectually - for me, it is a useful professional networking site and primarily focused on sharing updates and promoting one's brand.
This community, on the other hand, goes beyond mere networking to support knowledge sharing and creation.
Over time, I hope to see it also become an effective platform for 1:1 and group mentoring...
I spent time on both networks daily, but more time in this community than on LinkedIn although I've been a LinkedIn user since the early days of that platform and only started actively participating here in 2018.
