Activities defined in the schedule baseline trace back to work packages within the WBS which is part of the scope baseline. Sometimes, we may need to report on progress at the work package or control account level - if the schedule does not explicitly show this linkage, you'd have to go back to the scope baseline.

Thanks for your question, Hendry.

WBS is a direct feed to schedule planning. Elements of WBS decide the schedule (the more the WBS elements, the longer the schedule). This is referred to periodically while keeping schedule in check. Schedule variance will be impacted if the project digresses from the approved scope baseline (WBS).

Scope baseline is referred to as the approved version of a scope statement, work breakdown structure (WBS), and its associated WBS dictionary, that can be changed only through formal change control procedures and is used as a basis for comparison. In control schedule process , you need to monitor the status of activities related to a particular project. Aside from monitoring the status, it also involves updating of the project process as well as managing the changes to the schedule in order to achieve the plan.

Milestones should be defined correctly and often. On each milestone schedule plannig should be replaned and decision about changing schedule must be confirmed if its needs.
Important to note, if different changes on other planning stages makes changes in scope or budget schedule must be reviewed. It couldn't stays without changes.

1. Your schedule must include all project scope.
2. Baselining your schedule then implies baselining your scope.
3. Any "new" scope (intended or forgotten) needs to added to the schedule, and then perhaps rebaselined.
