Can someone guide me to the step by step process of applying for eligibility for the PMP? I have a colleague interested in the process, but I can't find and confirm what the requirements are. Saving Changes...

B. PMI chapters *
C. Employer/company-sponsored programs

The following education does not satisfy the education requirements:
PMI chapter meetings*
Self-directed learning (e.g., reading books, watching instructional videos or sessions
with coaches or mentors)

I think you misinterpreted my response.
I was suggesting he download and read the PMP handbook (not the PMBOK Guide) as that is the ONLY authoritative source for eligibility and all other PMP requirements.
As an REP, I well know the requirements for achieving the required 35 contact hours :-)

Yes i misunderstood your answer, sorry for the inconvenient. Some how i thought you were referring to the PMBOK guide. Must read more careful next time, it happens. A perfect example of failed communication, in this case from my part the receptor :) .

Thanks everyone! Super helpful and I also re-read the handbook after. It helped me remember the steps I took, so I was able to follow up and guide the PMP hopeful. Saving Changes...
