I would like to get your opinion on the following thread title as I am carrying out a thesis (dissertation) on the topic. Any feedback good or bad will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Was wondering if you ever wrote this .. about to establish some KPIs for contract staff and was interested in their impact?

KPIs can matter, especially if the KPIs are contractually tied into penalties. For example, there could be KPIs tied into reporting such as EVM or KPIs tied into timely communication and issue resolution just to name a few. Similar to project completion milestones, KPIs can be used in this way. I suspect the key is the degree to which KPIs matter (contractually or not) to the client. Great post - I hope we hear and learn from others.

Care must be taken when developing KPIs as they can have unexpected consequences. The contractor will focus on the areas with KPIs to the possible detriment of the other areas.
