What is the difference between Assistant PM and Entry-level PM?? I am military, PM certified (2018) and am retiring soon so naturally, I am job hunting for PM positions. I do not understand the difference (unless it is pay but most are not advertised). Just wondering.

As this thread indicates, job titles can be misleading, and they certainly are not standardized. Focus more on the stated responsibilities/qualifications of the position, and look for alignment with your previous experience and/or alignment with where your career is heading.

I would be wary of those titles...odds are pretty good you will be asked to do real PM activities and end up with PM accountability

Stephanie,

I think it depends on the role within the organization, and the industry itself. I am an APM due to the years of construction experience that I have not necessarily due to the amount of project management years I have.

By no means am I a "secretary" I have 5 projects that I am independently managing and co-managing two with a senior project manager.
