I came across a post today on LinkedIn which mentions that PMI are offering a free PMP Practice Pilot Exam for a limited time for all members and non-members.

When I clicked on the link, it directed me to PMI store and going through the product details, it read as follows:

Product Description

From PMI, the makers of the PMP: This full-length practice exam is a simulation of the actual PMPĀ® exam, with 200 questions taken from previous exams. This online resource will help you get comfortable with the types of questions and format of the exam. The practice exam is not timed and it provides candidates with feedback to aid the learning process when a questions is answered incorrectly. Also, users are permitted to retake the practice exam to continue to build confidence in sitting for the PM.

Appropriate Audience

This practice exam is being offered as a limited time pilot by PMI. It is available at no cost to PMP candidates in India who have paid their exam application fees. At this time the practice exam is not available to candidates outside of India and is not available for purchase.

That being said, it seems that the Practice Exam Pilot is available for everyone without any restrictions so either the note under the product is there by mistake or maybe PMI didn't restrict access for some reason. Something is off ! I will share link to PMI Store in the comments

Are you aware of this ? Let me know what you think ?

Hi Rami -

I'd posted this a week or so back: https://www.projectmanagement.com/discussi...-Marketplace---

It looks like a reasonable set of questions - I did the first dozen or so to see how much I remember :-)

It is still geared towards the current exam but I'm sure it will be refreshed and converted back to a paid product by July 1.

That's weird because I never saw this post at all and I am surprised it had no comments, something is not right as I check the portal for discussion threads every single day.

I am taking the Pilot on 9th March in Helsinki (Finland). My information is that the Pilot is being conducted between 9 - 20th March all over the world. This pilot is not different than the actual exam but just a pre-launch before launching the new exam in full swing.

Benefit for PMI - Get feedback from this pilot in order to execute the full launch with success

Benefit for students taking the exam - I paid the full fee for the exam now. I have been promised that PMI won't charge me for the next attempt at the new exam. So I will have the possibility to have two attempts at the same fee.

This is a totally different subject. We are talking about a Practice Simulation Exam that PMI released which has questions from past PMP exams.

Good Luck with your exam, let us know how it goes.

I suspect the pilot is, in fact, a preparatory step to this summer's new exam.
Stephane

I don't think so as it mentions its from past exam questions.

Maybe they did restrict it now, I have no idea. It worked for Kiron and worked for me a few days ago.

I won't probably investigate. I posted the questions here to see if others are aware of this or not and maybe PMI can also enlighten us.

I did not want to announce it on LinkedIn before I make sure it is accessible to all.

RK
Makes sense mate.
