Easy Question About Obtaining the PMP

How much time is a person allowed to obtain their PMP after they are approved to sit for the exam? Is there a time limit, or am I just imagining one exists?
If a time limit exists, please point me to the location of that inforamation on PMI.org; I couldn't find this answer on the site. One of my team members wants to get her PMP. Thanks!

Correct, it's 1 year. I'd honestly wait to apply until the person is ready to take the test - then it can be scheduled at the best convenience.

It also makes studying less pressure if any exam prep course or training is done BEFORE applying that way there's extra time to go through things.

PMI's certification exams are the hardest out there - even with a prep course they still involve a lot of actual study time.
