Aside from certification tracks, what courses can I recommend to my team (3-5 years experience in PM) that would help them get better at their craft? All of them are located in NYC area.

Thanks in advance.

It depends on where their capability is now. I'd suggest doing an assessment on their abilities and find out their individual interests to then craft appropriate development plans with them.

Thanks Kiron. My goal for now is to have a "wide net" approach instead of getting them started on any one particular track. This would help me with everyone speaking the same language and then each of them can chose the next level as their expertise.

One potential idea is getting an account for Linda learning. Making content available for others to consume when time permits and allow for their curiosity to flourish.

what some companies do to increase competencies across a group is to establish a regular presentation of topics by their members themselves. Everybody has a new experience, reading, learning they can share. I have seen lunch time formats.
If the group finds a particular topic of interest, they can invite a SME, inhouse, from customers or others.

Self organizing improvement.

I would recommend Leadership courses at this stage in their career where soon they will be handling more responsibility and be in a leadership position.

Organizational change management is helpful for leaders of any ilk.
1) If there's a need to develop public speaking skills I'd recommend Toastmasters for this. It's pretty cheap for a year of membership and there's a lot of great content.

2) If management training / soft skill training is required looking into classes from the AMA (American Management Association). They have classes on influencing without authority etc. They have a facility in midtown where they give classes in person in addition to online

3) If your team deals with software / IT type projects - I'd actually recommend an intro coding type course just so they can learn some basics if they don't already have the background. You don't need to make them programmers but working knowledge can be helpful
