After seeing so many complains about PMI cancellations, Is PMI truly working (Digital transformation) and shifting from presential to virtual ?

When my mail box is full with offerings of virtual trainings and online certifications by competitors institutions and other teaching institutions, even some develop virtual trainings in one week so they not stay behind in this time of uncertainty.

I am surprised with so many cancelations of PMI , without any contingency plans, and without any predicted change !!!! What do you think about this we just teach digital transformation (and this is a very small subset of what is really digital transformation) and do not practice?

Dear Alexandre
Interesting your question
Thanks for sharing

A few days ago I created a topic about PMI, ProjectManagement.com and being Agile

It looks like "In blacksmith’s house, wood skewer."

It is not as easy to transition fast during a force majeure like this. It takes time to do that and what PMI are doing, it not unreasonable. Cancelling the exam is a wise decision as there are people's lifes at stake here.

It's all about inspection and adaption. Not only PMI, but all organizations, are adapting day by day based on the pandemic situation updates.

At this point in time, we need to be supportive, and give everyone the chance to adapt until we get over this global pandemic. Not sure this is the right time to criticize, but that's my personal opinion.

Rami,

As you know I respect always your opinion and also the health safety of the persons, I am not criticizing the cancelations of the exams, this is obvious it's a measure of precaution.

What I am saying is that life can not stop, economy can not be suspended or instead one catastrophic health problem we will have a catastrophic social problem with unemployment in companies , bankruptcies ,increase of countries deficits, etc...

So as you said we must inspect and adapt, but this must be made in the shortest possible time to avoid social disruption. I am only surprised why PMI take so long to make that transition when I see many companies making the same transition in a matter of days or weeks otherwise they run the risk of ceasing to exist.

You can have sure that in Europe my country is being affected in a severe way, we also should remember that the first cases of covid-19 started in November of last year as such, a lot of time to take decisions, for me the critical point was when I saw China build two hospitals in a matter of days, in that time I thought to my self this is a serious problem is a matter of time.

We should stay at home, avoid spreading the disease, but it's a passive atitude, so we must take the time to do productive things differently than we were used to. We have the resources for that, they are available.

Good observation, Alexandre.
I am attending right now a free 3 days seminar on Covid-19 organized by SU.COM, 20K attendees and providing leading edge knowledge.

Thank you, and I respect your opinions too.

I hear your point but can't speak to that as I have no idea what exactly is PMI's plan so maybe they can weigh in on this discussion.
