What is your opinion regarding the initiative of companies to hire a personal trainer whose mission is to demonstrate physical exercises to be performed by people who work online
These activities are carried out at the beginning of each working day
Nothing like: "Healthy mind in healthy body"
What will be the impact of these types of initiatives on projects? Saving Changes...

Hi Luis - the idea is great. Actually hiring a physical trainer and broadcasting may be redundant to what already exists. While I totally agree on the importance, I myself exercise everyday, want to recognize and call out that there are many virtual exercise programs that are available for individuals to tap into or even apps for your mobile device.
The impact of an individuals healthy lifestyle would first and foremost provide for an improved day-to-day well being, which inherently would improve mood, feeling, and thus one's professional life.
What is important is having a motivation to do it! So from that perspective, whatever the organization can do to help support or motivate is even more important during this time.

Dear Andrew
Thank you for participating in this reflection and for your opinion
We agree with what he wrote: "Actually hiring a physical trainer and broadcasting may be redundant to what already exists."
Despite this, in my opinion, it is completely different to attend an activity organized by the company

I agree with Andrew, there is so many benefits to this. I believe something like this is more Valuable in the middle of the day more so then the beginning. As the long we sit at the keyboard the less focus we have. I try now to take 30 minutes of my 1 hour lunch break to walk or move in someway.
I would believe that having a program with a PT on staff would also benefit the company in Insurance breaks as well.

Dear John
Thank you for participating in this reflection and your opinion
For me, the main advantage of an organization of this nature is the creation and / or consolidation of the spirit of the company
If we ask all the people of the company about what is the most appropriate time to perform the physical exercise, we will have opinions as different as the people who answer this query.
There is a Portuguese saying: "
It is early morning that the day begins " :-)
Physical exercise is a great way to burn off stress and to prime the mind and body for the day.
Having all the local gyms in my area shut down (as of yesterday) because of the pandemic, I've had to resort to working out at home this morning and while I pushed myself, it was just not the same as doing it at a "real" gym.
It is certainly a good incentive if companies provide such benefits such as an on-site gym or a personal trainer, but having worked at one company where a gym was provided and it was empty most of the day, it always comes down to personal motivation.

Luis, thank you, for your response.
What are some of the valuable or impactful differences that would be realized by a company organized activity versus an existing option sponsored or reimbursed by the company?

Dear Andrew When organizing physical exercise sessions, the company shows interest in the health of its employees
The impact of reimbursing the cost is different from organizing sessions
What happens when organizations show interest in us?

The concept gives me a vision of some authoritarian states having staff line up and perform mandatory exercises at specific times of day.Yes, exercise is good however forced orchestrated activity is unhealthy. When does a good idea become a bad idea?
Encourage but do not mandate. Watch for the slippery slope!

Peter,
Only a provocative question, what is the border between encourage and mandate. Because, for example with the crisis of covid-19 some governments enforces people stay at home by a matter of public health, making exercise in the middle of work could be a matter of public health with so many professional desises in nowadays capturing public hospital resources.
Sure this is just a theoretically question to obtain your opinion, but the fact is that some countries are already almost in a martial state due to this crisis.

Very interesting what he wrote: "Yes, exercise is good however forced orchestrated activity is unhealthy. When does a good idea become a bad idea?"
All the ideas we can generate have their pros and cons
To what extent is it possible to make a good idea into a bad idea, leaving everyone to do physical exercise while being locked up at home?
To what extent, leaving the choice of the individual to the consideration of the time, can transform a good idea into a bad idea?
To what extent can leaving each one (individually or as a team) the possibility of defining the quantity and quality of the work to be carried out can help transform a good idea into a bad idea?
As you know, more questions can be asked :-)

Can we compare the governance of a company or non-governmental organization to the governments of countries?

One of the key differences here is that enforcing 'social distancing' is for the protection of others as well as the individual. Exercise is primarily for the protection of oneself. I do take your point on the impact on the health system (hospitals) and sometimes I feel that individuals should take more responsibility for their chosen lifestyle.
As a side note, yearly world total deaths due to traffic accidents is 1.5 million much of those self imposed. Should we, as a government or employers, be more involved in prevention (driver training)?

Dear Peter
Thank you for sharing your opinion with us
To what extent can people's enclosure (forced or voluntary) become a social problem?
Many states and / or governments are taking steps to prevent road accidents.
Some of these more pedagogical measures (campaigns like: circular is to live) and others more restrictive and punitive
