Dear Luis,
The best thing to start with is to stay at home first, this will help a lot in reducing contaminations.
After a couple of days if there is a need we can check with associations to help them getting gloves, etc or purchasing and gives directly to hospitals, depending on each country, here in Algeria it looks a bit different
Thanks
Hamid

Dear all,
I believe as all of you have notes that the world has put enough effort on managing the crisis. how ever all the plans went wrong.
I would recommend to donate time to analysis the crisis and develop a good crisis management guidelines so that we can help and support the community through our speciality.
$ 60 million could be good enough to produce a good Crisis guideline produced by PMI members.

Dear Adel
Thank you for participating in this reflection and for your opinion
I am convinced that it is an excellent idea for you
It does not intervene directly in this crisis but develops knowledge that can serve as a basis for implementing measures to mitigate new situations.
I am convinced, it is my opinion, that we could also have another type of involvement

Dear Luis,
What I have noticed from other organization is that they are offering their services and online tools for free to people who are affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.
For PMI this could be an opportunity to increase membership, interest in project management as well as educating the masses to the approaches of project management that could be applied to daily life.
PMI could team up with Microsoft and offer free MS Project Access as well as online courses on how to use the software in conjunction with PMBOK and project management methodology.
Each organization should look at what it does and how they can offer their services in the spirit of giving and increase awareness as well as corporate social responsibility.
Also offer limited membership of PMI to people on the front line who have little knowledge of logistics and project management.
There are many things that PMI can do to improve the situation for those effected. I would not be an advocate of donation as money is not the answer to the problem as has been proven but improved education and awareness.
This is an opportunity for PMI to extend its reach and make itself more relevant to peoples daily lives.

What you suggested (fantastic ideas) may have been developed and implemented in parallel with the acquisition of medical equipment and material Saving Changes...

Hello Luis,
Good initiative. Need of the hour is hand sanitizers, masks & gloves etc. as many countries reporting acute shortages. Not sure how much PMI as such can do but I am sure each PMI chapter can play a very important role in mobilizing funds and supplies through the voluntary organizations like Red Cross. I am actually talking to some members.

We agree that maintaining distance in contact with others (2m) or social isolation are the first steps we can take to prevent the virus from spreading
What is the difference between what is happening in Algeria and the rest of the world?

Dear Luis,
That may be the cause but there is an expression, Never Waste A Good Crisis.
As you have said yourself you believe that they way we work and how we work will look very different when we come out of this COVID-19 outbreak.
However they are easy words to say and I believe this COVID-19 outbreak could be the catalyst that we all need to be the driver of change and make the workplace a much more equal, inclusive and progressive place to be.
The really challenge from the COVID-19 outbreak will be how as a society, communities, organizations, Governments and countries bounce back as many people talk themselves into a recession I believe if anything there will be a mini boom as the other side of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Dear Daire When I was studying in college (late 70s) the statistics were: - 60% of the world's wealth was held by 40% of the population
Today the numbers are quite different: - 60% of the world's wealth is held by 1% of the population
I am convinced that this crisis is to rehearse some things that will change our lives
Despite my skepticism, I have witnessed gestures by people who reveal humanity and solidarity
I created this topic for exactly that reason ...
Unfortunately, I did not see any initiative beyond the postponement of the exam change date for the PMP certification and the cancellation of some Conferences.
