Do you adhere to the client dress code or do you prefer to play safe and always dress up the same or one notch higher than the customer? Have you ever been told to change the way you dress? Share your story.

Dear Eduard,

How you dress is based upon the culture were you are based not on you own personal preference and style.

How you dress can be deeply offensive to some cultures and I have heard examples of project sponsors refusing to meet with the project manager and project team based on how they are dressed. And this is not a once off or isolated example.

So before you meet with anyone outside you project team know the lay of the land and what the cultural norms are regarding dress, conduct, woman being present and who you address at the meeting and their titles.

These are just a few considerations but for a man the minimum is a Business suit and for a women also a Business suit and also paying close attention to modesty and behavior.

Seriously? In my case, and since I am working from home like the majority of people nowadays, I still put on working clothes (okay, every day is now casual Friday). Can you still manage to have a working mindset wearing flip flops and sportwear? I look up to you!:-)
I am doing home work from last 25 years or before. To be honest I do not use pijamas but sport and hawainas. And my best friend is my "mate drink" (https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mate_(drink)).
Sorry because I am putting a reference to wikipedia.

I try to match my team; if anything, I do like many here and try to dress one level up from what the norm is. Over-dressing can be as awkward as under-dressing. But it depends on my day. On lighter days, I might try to blend in more with my team. On days when I know I'll be up front, I might dress a little more professionally- not out of fear, but to draw the attention I need from my audience.
