Many of us are or will be working from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Aside from work, what other things will you be doing to fill in the time at home?

Hope you are doing well and safe.

We are alternating at work so we don’t be in all of us at the same time. If this stays for long, I am planning to:

1) Do more marketing for my own coaching business.
2) Study for my professional development exams this year.

How about you ?

Hey Rami, sounds good. For me, just the usual study, but also a little along your lines, with some strategy and marketing for a consulting business that a colleague and I are working on.

Pretty much the same as I've been doing for the last couple of years since switching over to teaching - giving back to the PM community, working out, working on my pool game, baking and (once the weather improves) going out for long walks and playing golf. Oh yeah, and a bit of Netflix binge-watching too :-)

Hi Kiron, I can't resist the movie binges that's for sure; I can pass on the TV shows though.

We have been working remote since 10-days ago and mandated to self-quarantine so from the last few days.

- It is easier to find time to run, either during old commute hours or by using lunch.
- We are moving, so more time for packing and touchups
- Bonfires with the fam
- Reading
- Need to upgrade my SAFe SA to 5.0 :)

Interestingly enough, I have spent less time 'connected' (as in being online) since being remote.

That's interesting Andrew about connecting online less.

We also have been working remotely for the last couple of weeks. Like you, I oddly found that I am spending less time connected - online & working. I typically work 50-60 hrs a week, but working from home, it's been easier to cut back and only work the 40 hours I'm paid for.

This gives me more time to spend with my family, focus on schoolwork (I'm pursuing a degree & PMP certification), and even have a little "me" time. I think working from home has given me a healthier work/home balance.

Well, as a retiree, I was not 100% busy before as many of you.
I luckily finished my onsite university lectures end of February as to schedule.

Now
- spent much time to observe this disruption to materialize - once in a lifetime opportunity
- continue to mentor some people, had several long calls with someone preparing for a job interview the last 10 days
- working on a webinar for the PMI North Italy Chapter, they offer (almost) daily lunch webinars - topic 'how to become a good person'
- enabled family video conferences
- reading Kahneman till the end - very good book
- over the weekend attended a hackathon of the German government with 43K people and 1500 ideas to pursue #wirvsvirus.
- starting a plan with whom to stay in regular virtual contact, especially people living alone who might develop isolation symptoms over time (up to suicides, this might help: driven-resilience app)
- monitoring my health with OURA (e.g. my nightly respiration rate)

Sounds great Thomas. Even retired, you sound busier than me. Keep up the good work.

We have been working remote for longer than the COVID-19 came out, but I would always go into the office every so often to break the routine. Here are some things I do while working remote that seems to help.

-Reading, I seem to be reading a lot more than normal and a wide variety of topics. Not just educational, but fiction as well.
-I work out twice a day. I do some routines during lunch, instead of work and at night before bed.
-I do chores. The time in which I would normally run to the breakroom, I now will do some dishes, or do some laundry. If that is all caught up I might dust or vacuum a room.
-I am cooking more than I did when working remotely or in the office, as I prep meals during the last hour I am logged into work.

Hi Kimberly, I think life is more balanced when working from home. Hopefully one good thing that comes out of this COVID-19 thing is that more people will work from home on a regular basis.
